Report: "In search of indicators for Sustainable Mobility Guarantee(s)"

How can we measure whether a Sustainable Mobility Guarantee (SMG) is actually being achieved?

A new paper from our colleagues Takeru Shibayama, Chantal Köhler and Barbara Laa takes an important step toward answering this question by exploring which indicators are best suited to monitor and evaluate Sustainable Mobility Guarantees.

The study reviews German-language policy documents to identify which objectives and outcomes related to sustainable mobility policymakers address. Building on this existing mobility and accessibility indicators are analysed to assess which of them are most appropriate for measuring progress toward these policy goals - and where important gaps still remain.

The result is a structured overview of indicators that can support the implementation and evaluation of SMGs, helping policymakers move from ambitious goals to evidence-based monitoring and decision-making.
