Info

Nicolás García Arango is an aerospace and materials engineer with a PhD in computational materials engineering from TU Wien. His doctoral research focused on the investigation of intermetallic phases in thermally treated aluminum 6xxx alloys, combining experimental validation with advanced computational modeling.

He is currently a postdoc researcher „am Institut für Werkstofftechnologie, Bauphysik und Bauökologie an der TU Wien“, investigating phase transformations and stacking fault formation in metallic systems. Through his research and industrial collaborations, he has developed expertise in precipitation kinetics, CALPHAD-based thermodynamic simulations, and in-situ synchrotron characterization of light alloys. His work enables him to combine computational predictions with experimental observations, translating materials science into practical industrial process optimization and heat-treatment design.
