Project Description:

The project "digiTeachVR - Digital, integral course for the use of Virtual Reality in Industrial Data and Building Science" enables us to shape the future of the TU Wien in the course of the .dcall2021. The aim of the digiTeachVR project is the conception and creation of a hybrid teaching course, which is based on a digital, integrated knowledge and learning platform on the basis of the TUWien learning platform TUWEL. In this context, teaching content from Industrial Data Science (Smart and Knowledge-Based Maintenance) and Building Science and Virtual Reality (Integrated Planning and Industrial Building) will be combined with the Jupyter as a Service (JaaS) infrastructure of TU.it (High Performance Computing), extended and made available in an adapted way for the respective fields of study of the faculties Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering-Machine Engineering. The developed syllabus in digiTeachVR will provide students of the above mentioned master programs with basic knowledge in the linked application of Industrial and Building Data Science and Virtual Reality, using the example of integrated, digital factory planning. DigiTeachVR increases both the job market opportunities of students and the quality of work of young scientists at the TU Wien. The TU Wien itself gains from the project a positioning as an innovation driver in the field of modern teaching programs.
