The long-term head of the urban and regional research unit, Mag. Dr. Univ.Prof. Rudolf Giffinger, has officially retired on September 30th, 2021. He will, however, continue his academic teaching as an external lecturer and carry on his scientific research. The whole team of the research unit is grateful for 15 years of prudent team management and wishes all the best for the new stage of life!

Rudolf Giffinger’s farewell will be celebrated during the 50th anniversary event of the research unit on December 2nd, 2021. In addition to a short conference on „Climate Resilience: empirical evidence is not enough” and after a retrospective on the long history of the research unit (including an outlook on the challenges of the future) there will be the chance to raise a glass for our long-term head and to congratulate him on his (hopefully unrestful) retirement.
