In the lecture "Strategies and planning processes for rural and alpine areas" the master students and the supervisory team of the research areas soil, transport system planning (MOVE) and region work together for three days at the landuni Drosendorf. The task of the students is to further develop a spatial planning strategy in the northern Waldviertel and to think along development trends of the rural area.

In Drosendorf, the regional manager Ing. Mag. Roland Deyssig presented the region and its previous considerations on strategic orientation of the LEADER region, before a night hike through Drosendorf took place in the evening. On the second day, the students experienced the region from different perspectives - on foot, by bike, by bus and by car. Many of them got to talk to residents and regional actors. On the third day, the initial findings were presented at various locations in Drosendorf. The places were chosen by the students themselves according to their respective topics. Guests such as Brigitte Schütz-Zimmermann from the Science Department of the Province of Lower Austria, Roman Feldmann from the Drosendorf Municipal Council, the gallery owner Freya Kopfreiter and Roland Deyssig contributed to the presentations.
