over~flow - Successful start of the Landuni Drosendorf

For the first time since its launch, the "Landuni" in Drosendorf Castle (Waldviertel region) has been the venue for a workshop held within the framework of the course "over~flow". Accompanied by a highly committed teaching team, the 25 participants dealt extensively with the topic of rivers and riverscapes over a period of three days.

The course over~flow is offered as a bachelor elective module (cooperation: region) with an accompanying bachelor seminar. The goal is to examine river areas and river regions. They connect and separate at the same time, are either well or poorly usable, natural or designed, dynamic or dammed up, accessible or closed off, touristic or untouched. The corresponding spatial, social, construction and planning conditions as well as the specific current (and historical) use interests and conflicts on and along rivers will be analyzed. Based on an intensive research, strategies and visions for the future development on and along specific rivers will be elaborated. The resulting multifaceted picture of visions and strategies is addressed to a large audience and is supposed to sensitize for a more conscious and careful handling of rivers.

The historic Drosendorf Castle, which was visited for the first time as part of the "Landuni Drosendorf" project, provided a particularly impressive setting for the students' activities.
