Presentation of the Regional Development Programme

Presentation of the regional development programme by Nina Svanda and colleagues.

The programme was developed in cooperation between our research department and the newly established department for "supra-local spatial planning" of the Burgenland provincial government. The Research Department assisted in the division of the four regions and provided scientific support throughout the entire process.

During the presentation, our colleague Nina Svanda praised the implementation process in the development of the "REP" and the cooperation of the municipalities. The title "Gemeinsam mehr Horizont" expresses very well what the Province of Burgenland and the municipalities want. The development programme and the goals set out in it make an important contribution to spatial planning, the preservation of quality of life, the protection of the landscape and nature in the region. The complex challenges of the future, especially due to the climate crisis and the increasing degree of sealing, make regional cooperation in planning increasingly important. This level is to be strengthened in the programme.
