SCALINGS - Scaling Up Co-creation
As part of SCALINGS, the Research Unit of Law is an associated partner of Iris Eisenberger and her team, opens an external URL in a new window at the Institute for Public Law and Political Science, University of Graz. Together the collaboration explores questions surrounding the public procurement of innovation as well as co-creation and intellectual property.
A focus lies on probing whether on the basis of current law, public procurement can be harnessed as a demand-side policy instrument for promoting innovation. In relation to co-creation and intellectual property, the main point of interest is the influence of legal provisions on intellectual property and data ownership as well as data access on co-creation in so-called co-creation facilities ("CCF"). CCF are virtual or physical facilities in which different actors (e.g. scientists, companies, public bodies) come together to jointly create innovative solutions.
