As part of the courses "Strategies and Planning Processes for Rural and Alpine Areas, opens an external URL in a new window" and "Single Family Homes - thinking ahead, opens an external URL in a new window", excursions to the landuni Drosendorf are organized. Barbara Steinbrunner from the Research Unit Land Policy and Land Management supervises these courses together with other lecturers from the Research Units Transportation System Planning, Regional Planning and Development and Urban Design.

In the course "Strategies and Planning Processes for Rural and Alpine Areas" the master students and the supervisory team of the Research Units Land, Transport System Planning (MOVE) and Region work together for three days at the landuni Drosendorf. The task of the students is to further develop a spatial planning strategy in the northern Waldviertel and to think along development trends of the rural area.

The course "Single Family Homes - thinking ahead" builds on the results of the previous course "Single Family Homes" and is complemented by additional perspectives from architecture, spatial planning, sociology and practice (planning office and community/region). Together with the supervisory team of the Research Units Land, Region and Urban Design, the students spend 4 days at the landuni Drosendorf in the Waldviertel and work on questions in workshops on site in the region.
