In May, the aspern.mobil LAB hosted three workshops focusing on senior mobility and logistics. The aim of these events was to connect research findings with practical knowledge and to discuss future developments for Aspern Seestadt together with relevant stakeholders.
The first workshop took place on 5 May as part of the senior mobility study. Residents of Aspern Seestadt and other stakeholders were invited to discuss and reflect on the study’s preliminary findings. Building on these results, participants developed ideas for improving infrastructure and public spaces to better meet the needs of older adults.
On 7 May, the focus shifted to logistics. Together with experts from public administration, participants discussed framework conditions and governance instruments for the successful implementation of micro-logistics hubs in Seestadt. Particular attention was given to organisational, planning-related, and regulatory aspects relevant to the practical deployment of such concepts.
The third event, held on 12 May, took the form of a “walkshop” on senior mobility. During a guided walk through Aspern Seestadt, participants examined challenges and opportunities directly on site. The observations gathered during the walk complemented the study results with practical insights from everyday mobility experiences.
The workshops provided valuable input for the ongoing work of the aspern.mobil LAB and strengthened the exchange between research, public administration, and users.
