5th Semester
Due to rising student enrollment, we are offering not just one, but two P2 groups with a regional focus this semester: One is in the “Hot Spring” region (280.794 PR Spatial Development Planning, opens an external URL in a new window) with our existing P2 teaching team, and the other is in the “badsooßbrunn” region (280.B83 PR Spatial Development Planning, opens an external URL in a new window) with a new teaching team, including Alois Humer and Daniel Youssef.
In addition, as in every winter semester, the course 280.799 VU “Planning Theory and Ethics”, opens an external URL in a new window will be offered.

Master's Thesis
To support students as they write their theses, we offer the 280.923 SE regional thesis seminar, opens an external URL in a new window for master’s students who are writing their theses in our research unit.
Elective module 2: Planning in rural and alpine regions
Effective October 1, 2026, in accordance with Section 5 of the 2026 Curriculum Amendment, opens an external URL in a new window (only available in German), supplementary courses in the Master’s elective modules must consist of either 9 ECTS of specialization courses or 6 ECTS of specialization courses plus 3 ECTS of expansion courses. Specialization courses are marked as such in TISS and have a close thematic connection to the elective module. Expansion courses have no direct thematic connection to the elective module and can be counted toward multiple elective modules.
For Elective Module 2, the research unit Regional Planning and Regional Development offers the course 280.B89 SE “Future Agenda for Regional Planning”, opens an external URL in a new window as a specialization course.
