What a FABULOUS time of the year

Last week we made ourselves an early Christmas present and launched our new project on preFABricated, modULar and form Optimised UHFB-Slab elements for road bridges (FABULOUS). There was a fruitful discussion at the project kick-off between the academic partners Technische Universität Wien, TUM Lehrstuhl für Massivbau, kfmResearch – Professur für Baustatik und Konstruktion – Massiv- und Brückenbau, ETH Zurich, the industry partners dsp Ingenieure + Planer AG and Büchting + Streit AG, B+S Beratende Ingenieure VBI together with representatives of the infrastructure operators and clients Bundesministerium für Innovation, Mobilität und Infrastruktur, ASFINAG, Bundesministerium für Verkehr, Bundesanstalt für Straßen- und Verkehrswesen (BASt), Die Autobahn GmbH des Bundes and Bundesamt für Strassen ASTRA. The project is part of the D-A-CH Kooperation VIF 2025 and is being managed by the FFG Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mbH.

With this project we aim to push the boundaries in lightweight and durable bridge design, while accelerating construction process.
