Building on the fuTUre fit process, Senate members are coming together in workshops to specifically advance key topics for the further development of the Senate’s work. This process is being facilitated by Wolfgang Gerlich. 

In mid-February 2026, an online survey was conducted among all Senate members, with 50 members participating. The survey covered the following topics:

•    Motivation for participating in the Senate

•    Members’ contributions to Senate work

•    What information is needed for effective participation?

•    Voting on workshop topics

•    Input for additional workshop topics

On February 27, 2026, the survey results were presented and discussed in an online mini-retreat with 27 participants. The focus included co-creation, transparency and insight, improved framework conditions, networking, the contribution of expertise, and increasing the Senate’s visibility. 

To structure the content, the following topic clusters were formed:

•    Visibility & Outreach

•    Process Optimization & Digitalization 

•    Role Interfaces, Organization, and Structure 

•    Governance & Internationalization

On April 8, 2026, a relaxed get-together will be held for Senate members to network and flesh out the topic clusters.

The further development projects will kick off with the Senate retreat on May 29, 2026.
