Our courses in the internal continuing education programme in the summer semester 2026
How do you write a data management plan (DMP) – and why anyway?
In their request for Open Science and FAIR principles, funding bodies increasingly require well-defined data management and data management plans (DMPs). In this workshop, we will take the first steps towards a DMP together, learn from each other, and discover the DMP tool provided by TU Wien. On the way, you will also experience how you and your research can benefit from good data management.

Data repository goes Arsenal
This time, our data repository workshop will be held deliberately at the Arsenal campus. However, anyone interested is welcome to attend! You will learn how DOIs, licenses for data and code, the FAIR principles, and the institutional data repository of TU Wien help you preserve your research data and share it with others. We will show you the potential of the repository’s community feature, how the automated upload via Rest API works, and how different versions of datasets are handled.

Git workshops
In addition to our established courses "Introduction to Git" and "Mastering Git", we are offering a new format in the summer semester: "Git for newbies". In this hands-on course with a maximum of 10 participants, the basics of Git are explained and put into practice.
Git for newbies
In this course, you will learn how to use Git locally to create snapshots of your work, view previous versions, recover lost changes, and trace the history of your project. We will take the time to familiarise you with the basic commands you will use on a daily basis. Branches and GitHub will be briefly mentioned to show where these concepts are used. A short explanation will be followed by simple tasks so that participants can immediately try out what they have learned and learn through practical application.
