From Idea to Entanglement: How a Time Tagger Supported a Journey in Quantum Electron Microscopy

Researchers from Haslinger lab at TU Wien trace a four-year journey from a theoretical idea to the experimental demonstration of electron–photon entanglement inside a transmission electron microscope. Central to this progress was the flexibility of the Time Tagger Ultra from Swabian Instruments. The work culminates in electron–photon entanglement and the first two-dimensional ghost image, pointing toward future quantum-enhanced electron microscopy with dramatically reduced dose.
