The aspern Seestadt mobility survey was featured on fti-mobilitaetswende.at as an official Success Story. The platform is run by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure (BMIMI) and implemented as part of open4innovation by the FFG (Austrian Research Promotion Agency) – it systematically documents the impact of Austria's Mobility Lab initiative.
From 2019 until the end of its funding period, the aspern.mobil LAB invited Seestadt residents to record their mobility behaviour via an app – a multi-year, neighbourhood-level effort. This survey was specifically selected as an example for the impact dimension “building and providing knowledge, skills and infrastructure.”
The fact that this particular project was highlighted by the funding body itself as a Success Story is a nice external validation of the lab's work – and it coincides with the end of the aspern.mobil LAB's funding period, which will continue in a reduced form as a contact point for mobility topics in Seestadt going forward.
