Its innovative approach combines scientific knowledge with participatory formats and helps raise awareness of soil as a limited and essential resource.

The conference provided a platform for professional exchange on current challenges related to soils in the Alpine region. Particular focus was placed on land-use conflicts arising from the many demands on soil, as well as on methods for effective soil protection. In addition to presentations, poster sessions and an excursion offered practical insights.

Barbara Steinbrunner is also a member of the advisory board of the Austrian Soil Science Society.
