Radfahren für die Wissenschaft

On April 21, World Creativity and Innovation Day, the TU Wien set a strong example for connecting research, movement, and sustainable mobility. Under the motto “Cycling for Science,” a group ride led from Karlsplatz Campus to the Science Center, with around 30 participants joining - including Rector Jens Schneider and Science Buster Martin Puntigam.

The tour was largely organized by our cycleFIT team, once again demonstrating how research and practice can be meaningfully combined. Upon arriving at the Science Center, participants gained insights into cutting-edge research infrastructure such as the Austrian Scientific Cluster and innovative projects in the field of sustainable mobility. In addition to the group ride from Karlsplatz to the Science Center, participants had the opportunity to test cargo bikes and complete a skills course. For us, cycleFIT is a real-world lab for sustainable mobility—one where ideas are not only explored in theory, but actively tested on campus. The event concluded with an engaging show by the Science Busters, featuring Martin Moder and Martin Puntigam, highlighting that science can be both impactful and entertaining.
