With this step, PIM strengthens its network within a key platform for exchange between research and industrial practice in the field of maintenance and asset management. ÖVIA acts as a neutral, independent knowledge platform and network that initiates activities to advance both theory and practice, while addressing current challenges and developments across industries. 

With its long-standing experience, ÖVIA promotes the exchange of knowledge and best practices among companies, research institutions, and public organizations. Its core activities include initiating research projects, developing practical solutions, and offering a wide range of training and exchange formats. 

For PIM, the membership opens up new opportunities to actively contribute to topics related to maintenance and asset management. In particular, strong synergies arise with current research areas such as data-driven methods in particular predictive maintenance, artificial intelligence, digital twin and XR, enabling further collaboration and knowledge transfer with industry partners.
