Together with students and faculty from UBT Prishtina, opens an external URL in a new window, as well as local stakeholders from the region around Peja and Deçan in western Kosovo, we explored opportunities for sustainable and culturally sensitive tourism development in the Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park. The program also included excursions through the cities of Prishtina and Prizren, as well as a snowcat ride.

Under the motto “Planning together for sustainable development,” the two universities, UBT Prishtina and TU Wien, have maintained a long-standing collaboration in teaching and research. Within this context, the master’s project “Care and Use. A regional development plan for the Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park in Kosovo” takes place in the summer semester 2026 for spatial planning and architecture students, in which small inter-university groups will develop drafts for regional tourism concepts.

We look forward to welcoming the Kosovo delegation to Austria in May for the second project workshop!
