Industrial production in Austria is at a strategic turning point. Global cost optimisation, geopolitical dependencies and increasing pressure to innovate pose major challenges for the production location. The ÖWGP Forum ‘Future of Production’ is therefore dedicated to the question of what role production will play in the future in terms of competitiveness, innovative strength and economic sovereignty.

The event will take place on Thursday, 29 January 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at TUtheSky (Getreidemarkt 9, 1060 Vienna). After the opening by Univ.-Prof. Christian Ramsauer (TU Graz) and Univ.-Prof. Fazel Ansari (TU Wien / Fraunhofer Austria), Prof. Christoph Herrmann (TU Braunschweig / Fraunhofer IST) will give the keynote speech ‘Future of Production’. In the subsequent panel discussion, representatives from science and industry, including Siemens, will discuss the future of production in Austria. The discussion will be moderated by Univ.-Prof. Sebastian Schlund (TU Wien / Fraunhofer Austria).

Participation is free of charge
