In 2025, TU Wien introduced a new range of workwear, produced entirely in Europe in accordance with high social and environmental standards. Regional value creation significantly reduces transport distances, which minimises the carbon footprint and ensures a transparent supply chain. The selection process was carried out in close consultation with safety specialists, occupational health professionals, ergonomists and the relevant institutes to ensure a functional, safe and, at the same time, resource-efficient solution.

The durable materials, repair-friendly designs and certified textiles help to reduce waste and avoid the use of environmentally harmful substances. This change takes safety standards, sustainability criteria and cost-effectiveness into account in equal measure and makes an important contribution to responsible, forward-looking procurement.
