Alexander RIEDER received his PhD at the ASC in 2017 and subsequently continued working there as a project assistant. From 2019 to 2021, he was affiliated with the University of Vienna before returning as a university assistant to the „Computational Mathematics“ group led by Prof. Jens MELENK. He is currently employed as a postdoctoral researcher within the framework of his own FWF project “Advanced BEM for wave propagation in the time domain”.

His research interests focus on the numerical simulation of wave phenomena and their efficient implementation. Thanks to third-party funding secured by the institute, a new position could now be created and financed. We are delighted that he will support us in research and teaching as a Senior Scientist and wish him all the best in his new role.
