Markus Faustmann has been a member of the permanent staff at ASC since 2021 and has been an integral part of the institute as a senior scientist in research, teaching, and outreach.
Due to his diverse achievements and successes in these areas in recent years, he has now been promoted to a assistant professor on a tenure-track position.

Markus Faustmann's scientific work focuses on the analysis of numerical methods for solving partial differential equations. In particular, he deals with the analysis and numerical approximation of operators that exhibit non-local effects such as gravity. Other areas of research include matrix compression techniques for reducing computational times and the implementation and analysis of numerical methods on quantum computers.

With the start of his new position as assistant professor, Markus Faustmann will also take over the administrative management of the successful outreach initiative TUForMath, which was previously held by Dirk Praetorius from the ASC.

We congratulate Markus and wish him all the best for his new tasks in research, teaching, and at TUForMath!
