In grateful memory

It is with deep sadness that we bid farewell to Christine Cerny, who passed away on 9 August 2026 at the age of 64 following a long illness.


Christine Cerny worked as a secretary at our institute for over four decades. During this long period, she became a trusted, reliable and much-loved colleague to many of her fellow staff members. She knew the institute not only through her day-to-day work, but was also an integral part of its history and its vibrant community.

She carried out her duties with great care, a sense of responsibility and human warmth. In doing so, she was far more than just a competent point of contact for organisational matters: she always had an open ear and treated people with kindness, patience and genuine interest. Many will remember her in particular for her helpfulness, her reliability and her warm nature.


What remains is our deep gratitude for the time we spent together and our profound appreciation for a person who has supported and shaped our institute over many years.
