Together with colleagues from the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland and Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, two days were devoted to collecting data for the analysis of mobility behaviour in neighbourhoods.

In this project, researchers from the three DACH partners are developing a practical planning tool based on mobility surveys and secondary data analyses in more than 50 neighbourhoods across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. This tool is designed to help local authorities estimate the modal split in neighbourhoods and identify suitable measures to facilitate a modal shift.

Despite the intensive and substantive discussions on neighbourhood mobility, there was plenty of time for culinary delights and sightseeing. In addition to a stroll through the town’s old quarter and to the castle, lunch breaks were enjoyed in the university canteen with a lovely view of Lake Obersee.
