TRACE at TRA Conference

Within the Horizon project TRACE, the MOVE team developed a model for assessing the spatial compatibility of autonomous vehicles, such as sidewalk delivery robots. The model takes into account:

• the physical characteristics of the infrastructure, and
• pedestrian density.

But where do the pedestrian data come from? For this purpose, Vaghar Bahojb developed an approach that combines data from multiple sources, including counting stations, points of interest (POIs), as well as information on population and land use. He prepared the results for a poster presentation at the TRA Conference. At the conference, Vaghar Bahojb was represented by Magdalena Bürbaumer.

POTUS at TRA Conference

This project, funded under the Driving Urban Transitions Partnership (DUT), investigates how urban freight transport can support the goals of the 15-minute city and how the 15-minute city concept, in turn, affects urban freight transport.

At the TRA Conference, Jonathan Fetka presented an analysis of international 15-minute city concepts with regard to their integration of urban freight transport. The results show that freight transport is either not considered at all or only insufficiently addressed in most concepts. This can lead to long-term conflicts over the use of public space, for example when redesigning street environments or developing new urban districts.
