Can a floor slab be designed today so that it becomes a resource tomorrow instead of waste?

With Digi-HBV, we are launching a research project on digitally fabricated and reusable timber–concrete composite floor slabs. Together, TU Wien (Research Unit Structural Concrete & Structural Simulation and Timber Engineering) and DataB GmbH are developing solutions to enhance material efficiency, enable disassembly and reuse, and establish a seamless digital workflow – from structural design and analysis to CNC manufacturing.

The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure and the Climate and Energy Fund within the FFG Austrian Research Promotion Agency program “Technologies and Innovations for the Climate-Neutral City 2025.”
