IEA EBC Annex 94 | Building Construction and Building Preservation at TU Wien – Active in International Exchange

Our Institute of Building Construction and Building Preservation at TU Wien was represented in Paris from May 12 to 14 at the international meeting of IEA EBC Annex 94 – a research program dedicated to the advancement of in-situ measurement methods for the thermal performance of buildings.

Our colleague Yousef Al Aidy represented both Austria and TU Wien, actively contributing our methodological expertise to the discussion.

Key topics at the meeting:

  • Further development of measurement methods for the Heat Transfer Coefficient (HTC)
  • Validation frameworks and uncertainty analyses in performance diagnostics
  • Integration of Artificial Intelligence in building energy diagnostics
  • Application across diverse building types, climate zones, and usage scenarios

The exchange with leading researchers from the international community once again confirms how central reliable measurement methods are for the transformation of the building sector – and the role Austria can play in this process.

TU Wien represents Austria in this Annex and contributes to closing the performance gap between design predictions and real energy use.
