Fans can provide relief during the hot summer months. They use significantly less energy than air conditioning systems and therefore offer a sustainable and cost-effective way of creating a more comfortable environment.
Fans do not lower the room temperature, but rather create a draught that promotes the evaporation of sweat. This creates a pleasant cooling effect on the skin. As the body loses more fluid in the process, you should make sure to drink plenty of water on hot days.
Fans are particularly effective when combined with regular ventilation during the cooler morning and evening hours. Models with a swivel function distribute the air more evenly throughout the room and help to reduce trapped heat.
For people with allergies, however, fans can cause additional discomfort, as they can stir up dust, pollen and other particles.
To ensure fans can be used comfortably and safely, an indirect airflow is recommended. A draught directed continuously at the head or neck can lead to tension. Equally important is a secure position: fans should be placed on stable surfaces – not, for example, on armchairs or tables. Furthermore, cables should always be laid out so that there is no risk of tripping.
Fans can only be obtained through the GUT customer service team (ticket service, opens an external URL in a new window). However, due to extremely high demand, our stocks are completely exhausted, so we are currently unable to issue additional fans.
Important: Fans must not obstruct escape routes and passageways.
