The award was presented by ÖWAV President Martin Niederhuber.
Günter Blöschl has been closely involved with ÖWAV for more than three decades. During this time, he has played a key role in strengthening the connection between hydrological research and its practical application in water management. In particular, he made a significant contribution to the development of Guideline 220 on rainfall–runoff modelling, which has become an important ÖWAV publication with more than 2,200 downloads.
In addition to his contributions as a speaker at numerous professional events, he is also actively involved in key committees of the association, including the specialist group “Water Balance and Water Resources Management” and the working group “Climate Change Forum”. In these roles, he contributes significantly to shaping the strategic direction and further development of current topics in the field.
