What a powerful statement: on 27 May, over 21,000 people demonstrated in Vienna for the future of science and education – around 9,000 of them from TU Wien. From Karlsplatz along the Universitätsring to Ballhausplatz, it became clear just how much is at stake and how strong our shared determination is to stand up for it.

The impending budget cuts would deal a massive blow to research, teaching and Austria as a centre of excellence – making this clear, loud signal all the more important. TU Wien has shown what solidarity really means: “Together we are TU Wien”.

Thank you to all students, staff, as well as the Senate, works councils, HTU, University Council and Rectorate: our collective commitment makes all the difference!
