At Campus Getreidemarkt, a parent-child room for the Faculty of Technical Chemistry has been set up in building BA; this facility can also be used by the Faculty of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.
As part of efforts to improve the compatibility of work and family life, the room offers staff and PhD students the opportunity to bring their children to TU Wien when needed. In addition to a fully equipped workspace, the room features a crib, a play area, children’s furniture, a changing table, a small kitchenette with a dining table and a high chair, as well as a sofa for resting, breastfeeding or reading aloud.
With the parent-child room, TU Wien is providing a family-friendly facility right at the workplace. It helps parents to flexibly overcome childcare bottlenecks and contributes to better conditions for balancing work and family life.
