Exhibition duration: 17 March 2026 – 04 September 2026
Location:TU Wien Bibliothek, 1040 Wien, Resselgasse 4, Data Visualisation Space (touchwall, ground floor) and stairwell (floors 1 – 5)
The former exhibition “Printing the future. Three-dimensional precision” by the Vienna Museum of Science and Technology is moving to TU Wien Bibliothek. It showcases fascinating 3D printing applications originating from TU Wien. The Institute of Materials Science and Technology is a pioneer in high-precision 3D printing and the development of new materials. Spin-off companies such as Lithoz GmbH, Cubicure GmbH, Eburo GmbH and UpNano GmbH provide exciting insights – from high-performance ceramics for bone implants and artificial ivory to living cells printed in 3D.
Additive manufacturing enables particularly material-efficient production, as only the resources that are actually needed are used. In addition, new, durable, and biocompatible materials offer sustainable solutions for medicine, technology, and design.
Students from the institute are also featured to highlight the diversity of backgrounds that is crucial for research and the further development of additive manufacturing.
The exhibition is organised in cooperation with the Vienna Museum of Science and Technology, TU Wien Bibliothek, and Eburo GmbH.
