Dr. Alexandra Imre

Alexandra Imre successfully defended her dissertation “Computational Methods for Surface Structure Optimization in LEED I(V)” and was awarded the best grade for the thesis and defense. Congratulations, Alex!

The first PhD thesis of the ViPErLEED project was exceptionally successful! In her PhD work, Alex Imre has not only succeeded in making the computationally most demanding part of a LEED I(V) calculation much more user-friendly and more than 10 times faster, but the thesis also demonstrates exceptional mathematical knowledge and many creative solutions. The celebration after the successful defense was equally outstanding.
