Taşkın Özkan from our Research Unit of Photogrammetry has been awarded the prestigious Austrian Monument Protection Medal (Denkmalschutzmedaille) for the collaborative project “Points-Beams-Structures”.
The aim of the interdisciplinary project is to develop a method for the automatic generation of digital 3D structural models of historic timber roof constructions, directly based off of 3D laser scan data.
In close collaboration with leading institutes in architecture, art- and architectural history, our Photogrammetry Team provides the essential point clouds that form the basis of the models.
