SRF at the Annual Conference of the Regional Studies Association (RSA) in Gothenburg

The Annual Conference of the Regional Studies Association (RSA) took place from 15 to 18 June 2026 in partnership with the University of Gothenburg. Under the theme “Regions as Arenas in a Changing World,” the conference offered an international platform for academic exchange with over 700 presentations and lectures by leading researchers in the field. As part of the programme, Johanna Fellbrich, Astrid Krisch and Alexandra Pintilie presented their latest research findings.

In the session “Regional Business Support and Productivity”, Alexandra Pintilie presented the research approach developed in her dissertation on  “Anchor Firms in Regional Industrial Transition Processes”.

As co-organiser of the special session “Contestation as a Lens in Regional Sustainability Transitions”, convened as part of the RSA-funded ESPPRIT Research Network, opens an external URL in a new window, Astrid Krisch presented insights from her work on “Contesting contestation: Reframing governance in regional eco-social transformation”.

Johanna Fellbrich presented her paper “Geopolitics at the Docks: New Dimensions of Infrastructural Power in European Ports” in the special session on “Infrastructural Regionalism: Ports and Pipes, Futures and Fragments”.
