Measuring inequality anew

The Re:sI:Ze (Residual Income, Social Infrastructure, and Time Use) project by Tatjana Neuhuber, Antonia Schneider, Anna-Theresa Renner, Lukas Rast, and Leonhard Plank (TU Vienna) on behalf of the Vienna Chamber of Labor provides new perspectives on the interplay between income inequality, regional social infrastructure, and time use in Austria.

To this end, the authors not only analyzed the distribution of residual income in Austrian households, i.e., the portion of household income that remains after basic needs have been met. They also developed a new social infrastructure indicator and calculated it for all Austrian municipalities.
