In their new article “Managing affordable homeownership in urban China: grassroots responses to state-led governance reforms” Yiru Jia (Beijing Forestry University), Nicky Morrison (Western Sydney University), and Franziska Sielker (SRF) examine recent developments in the field of homeownership in urban China. Using a case study in Shanghai, they highlight the significance of “grassroots” practises in the development of Chinese governance structures.
