Kickoff of the Research School on Transformations in Architecture and Planning

Participants of the Research School gathered around a table

On 17 March 2026, the new Research School Transformations in Architecture and Planning (ReSTAP) successfully launched with a joint kick-off event. Over the next three years, ReSTAP will offer 18 doctoral students at the Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Planning a structured training and networking programme designed to support them as they work towards completing their doctorates and prepare them for careers in academia and professional practice. This includes courses on academic competencies and transformative skills, as well as formats for transdisciplinary exchange with international experts. In addition, ReSTAP creates space for peer learning and exchange among doctoral students working on related topics, as well as for the development of their own initiatives and formats by the participants.

The ReSTAP programme is coordinated by Johannes Suitner (Research Unit SRF), Margaret Haderer (Research Unit Sociology), Elisabeth Leitner (Research Unit Urban Design), and Lorenzo De Chiffre (Research Unit Building Construction and Design 1). They are supported in the organisation by Paul Klema (Research Unit SRF).
