From the beginning of March to the end of June, 19 students from the fields of architecture, spatial planning and civil engineering planned and built the HUUS FÜR D'LÜT in Lustenau, Vorarlberg.
The co-creative planning process took place in close cooperation with local stakeholders in the municipality in order to create a new place for everyone on the Virglar Hoschtat in the centre of Lustenau. The participation of young people was a priority and provided valuable input for the design process.
Plans and ideas were brought together and implemented in a 12-day construction workshop on site. On 20 June 2025, a grand opening celebration was held with representatives from the municipal administration and politics, various associations and a large number of interested visitors. The HUUS FÜR D'LÜT has now been handed over to the Open Child and Youth Work (OK-JA) team, who will use the space to host a colourful programme of events.
The ensemble, consisting of a converted container with a new roof terrace and a steel pavilion, is complemented by a continuous wooden terrace that integrates both the existing play elements and the furniture in the pavilion into the overall concept. In addition, various seating options, some of which are mobile, allow for a wide range of uses and possibilities for appropriation.
