On June 15, the poster walk marking the conclusion of the RadTUour course took place in the TVFA Hall. Students presented the results of their route assessments, discussed their findings, and developed initial ideas for improving cycling routes to TU Wien.

Around 120 students from almost all study programmes at TU Wien participated in the course. Their objective was to systematically assess the quality of cycling connections to the university. The course started off with a kick-off event in April at the start of the 2026 summer semester, where participants were introduced to the fundamentals of cycling infrastructure planning.

In the first phase, all student groups evaluated the same reference route. This common starting point enabled them to compare their assessments and discuss different observations during the course. In the second phase, each group was assigned a cycling route of approximately two kilometres. The selected routes were based on data from the smartphone-based mobility survey conducted using the TUW MyTrips app and represent typical cycling trips to TU Wien (see photo).

During the final poster walk, students presented and discussed their analyses and evaluations. The presentations highlighted not only existing challenges but also a wide range of ideas for improving the cycling network. The results will now be compiled and analysed by the cycleFIT team, providing an initial evidence-based overview of weaknesses and opportunities within the cycling network serving TU Wien.
