Gather, Connect, Create: Senate Come Together
On April 8, 2026, Senate members gathered in the Arnold Schmidt Room for a relaxed get-together with plenty of opportunity for informal networking. Building on the fuTUre fit process, they worked in workshops and discussion groups on key topics related to the further development of committee work. This process is facilitated by Wolfgang Gerlich.
Review
During the meeting on April 8, 2026, the thematic clusters identified in the previous survey and the online mini-retreat in February were further refined:
Visibility & Outreach
Process Optimization & Digitalization
Role Interfaces, Organization, and Structure
Governance & Internationalization
In doing so, the members of the Senate prioritized four topics:
Communication from the Senate to the faculties
Digitization of administrative/Senate processes; more efficient decision-making
Improving the flow of information between the Rector’s Office and TU committees/the Senate
Positioning: Rankings, alliances, strategic partnerships
Four groups developed 1–2 key questions per priority and gathered initial thoughts, ideas, and approaches.
Networking in a Relaxed Atmosphere
In addition to substantive work, the meeting was deliberately designed as an opportunity for participants to get to know one another personally and exchange ideas. In a relaxed atmosphere, participants were able to establish and strengthen connections, exchange perspectives, and share anecdotes.
Outlook
The development projects will kick off with the Senate retreat on May 29, 2026.
