Revised works agreement on business trips applies from 30.04.2026

On 30.04.2026, the revised works agreement on business trips for employees in the collective agreement came into force at TU Wien. This replaces the previous works agreement of 09.11.2023.

Important changes Works agreement on business trips (german only):

  • If a business trip and private vacation are combined, a settlement offer must be enclosed if the business trip and vacation destination differ. (Point 1.5)
  • CO₂ offsets are only refundable if the financier expressly requests this and the assumption of costs has been documented in writing, e.g. in the project contract. (Point 2.2)
  • The use of a rental car is only permitted in justified and approved cases. (point 2.2.5)
  • The payment modules of the transport allowance (travel expenses without actual receipt)  had to be adjusted for travel from 01.01.2026 due to tax changes. (point 2.2.7)

  • Requirements for invoices for the reimbursement of actual accommodation costs as well as adjusted recommendations for maximum costs per night and person (point 2.3):
    • Austria: up to EUR 143.00
    • Europe: up to EUR 234.00
    • Non-European destinations: up to EUR 260.00
  • Daily and overnight fees (german only) are uniformly regulated - the fee levels in the travel fee regulation (RGV) have been dropped. (points 2.3 and 2.4) LINK
