On April 15, 2026, the 4th Study Commission Day (StuKos) took place at TUtheSky—an important gathering for exchange, networking, and professional development related to curricula and teaching.
The annual networking event for our Study Commissions kicked off with opening remarks by Vice Rector for Teaching Jasmin Gründling-Riener and Senate Chair Bernhard Hofko. The program was organized by the QM-Teaching Department in coordination with the Senate Office (SB) and the Senate Commission on Curricula (SKC).
Key topics included
• Legal framework: An overview of the legal foundations of the study commissions’ work.
• Key themes in curriculum development: Insights into working with the key themes and their implementation.
• Evaluations: Findings from quantitative S-TOP evaluations.
• Developments regarding the creation and editing of study plans in LaTeX and the upcoming Curriculum Administration Tool (CAT)
Workshops
Numerous members actively participated in the following workshop sessions:
• Sharing Experiences with Peer-Review Teaching: Perspectives from the Student Councils
• Key Topics: Discussion with the Senate Chair Team
• Student Council Onboarding: What materials and information best support new members?
• Curriculum Administration Tool (CAT): Live demonstration of the current state of development
• LaTeX HelpDesk: Questions and support for StuKo work with LaTeX
• SKC discussion table: Exchange with the Senate Commission on Curricula
CAT: Strong Interest in the Joint Tool
There was strong interest in the Curriculum Administration Tool (CAT), which is being developed in collaboration with 11 Austrian universities. The project will be presented on June 1, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m., to staff members of all participating universities: classroom.aau.at/b/ott-bhm-j6l-uho
