4th Meeting of the Studies commissions

An important gathering for discussion, networking, and professional development related to curricula and teaching.

On April 15, 2026, the 4th Day of the Academic Committees took place in the TUtheSky—an important gathering for discussion, networking, and professional development related to curricula and teaching.

Words of welcome from the Vice Rector Academic Affairs Jasmin Gründling-Riener and the chairman Bernhard Hofko kicked off the annual networking event for our academic committees. The program was organized and developed by the Center for Strategic Development in Education, respectively the Service Unit of Quality Management and Strategic Projects in Education, in consultation with the Office of the Senate and the Senate Curriculum Committee.

Main topics

  • Legal framework: An overview of the legal basis for the work of the academic committees
  • Key themes in curriculum development: Insights into working with key themes and their implementation
  • Evaluations: Findings from quantitative StEOP evaluations
  • Senate Committee on Curricula and the Senate Office: Information on LaTeX

Workshops

Numerous members actively participated in the following workshop sessions:

  • Exchange of experiences on peer-review teaching: Perspectives from the academic committees
  • Key topics: Discussion with the Senate Chair’s team
  • Academic committee onboarding: What documents and information best support new members?
  • Curriculum Administration Tool (CAT): Live demonstration of the current state of development
  • LaTeX HelpDesk: Questions and support regarding working with LaTeX for the academic committees
  • Roundtable discussion: Exchange with the Senate Committee on Curricula

CAT: Strong Interest in the Joint Tool

Attention was also focused on the Curriculum Administration Tool (CAT), which is being developed in collaboration with eleven Austrian universities. The project will be presented online on June 1, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m., for staff members of all participating universities. Participation via this link, opens an external URL in a new window
