On June 3, 2026, TU Wien will be all about cycling. As part of cycleFIT, the “Bicycle Day” is used to increase the visibility of cycling on campus and actively promote sustainable mobility. Students and staff are invited to take part in a wide range of activities, workshops, and hands-on offers at all TU locations.

The day starts with a special incentive for all cyclists: anyone arriving by bike will receive a breakfast package (while supplies last). After that, participants can look forward to a diverse program with numerous stations and activities. These include customizing your bike with cycleFIT stickers as part of “cycleFIT ready,” a cycling quiz at the Gußhaus location, an ergonomic cycling workshop, and a cargo bike obstacle course organized by HTU, which playfully challenges skills and riding technique. Additional interactive stations around cycling and sustainable mobility complement the program.

Beyond the fun aspect, the focus is also on information and awareness: cycleFIT aims to strengthen the understanding of climate-friendly mobility and show how easily everyday life can be organized by bike.

The day concludes with an evening event at Hof 1 at Karlsplatz. Visitors can look forward to a relaxed atmosphere with music, drinks provided by the student representatives (Fachschaft Raum), and an award ceremony for the various activities and challenges.

The first participation challenges are already live: take part in the TU Bike Rally, “Show Your Bike,” or help identify abandoned bicycles on campus. All information about the program and participation can be found here.

With Bicycle Day, TU Wien sends a clear signal in favor of sustainable mobility and invites the entire university community to take part and rediscover the bicycle as an everyday means of transport.
