The 16th Doctoral Colloquium of the Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Planning, opens an external URL in a new window took place from 6 to 7 May 2026.
As part of the colloquium, nearly 30 doctoral candidates from a wide range of research areas within the faculty presented their work.
The first day of the event focused on 10-minute poster presentations and moderated group discussions, during which doctoral candidates, particularly those in the early stages of their doctoral research, presented their research projects. They were supported by advanced doctoral students who participated as reviewers in the poster sessions. The programme was complemented by information sessions organised by the Dean’s Office, the Doctoral Centre at TU Wien and the Faculty’s Research Schools.
The second day was devoted to reviews by advanced doctoral students, who presented and discussed the current status of their work before a review panel and colleagues. Accompanied by various presentation formats and a relaxed setting, the two-day event provided ample opportunity for academic exchange and lively networking.
The Research unit Sociology was represented by two presentations:
Johanna Gassner presented her doctoral thesis „Sozialraumanalyse für Straßenraumgestaltungen. Klassentheoretische Perspektiven und ihre Relevanz in Planungsprozessen, opens an external URL in a new window“ (PDF, p. 29), whilst Margaret Haderer presented the ReSTAP, opens an external URL in a new window (Research School „Transformation in Architecture & Planning“).
