Prof. Dr. Bob Martens FRICS - academic director of the real estate programs - welcomed the guests at their alma mater and emphasized the importance of continuing education in order to be able to meet the changing requirements. Dr. Birgit Trofer MSc - graduate of the MSc Real Estate Management and Valuation and Chairwoman of the Board of ImmoABS - conducted the interview with DI Martin Löcker. He spoke about his career at UBM and how his tasks and responsibilities have grown over 20 years. In almost 150 years, UBM evolved from a brick manufacturing company to an international real estate project developer. With the restructuring in spring 2020, UBM set itself the goal of becoming the largest timber construction developer in Europe. These advancements require a sound basic knowledge of the real estate industry and the willingness to recognize, drive and support change. Lifelong learning has become an integral part of professional life.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Löcker encouraged the guests to think about the sustainability they are currently practicing and to go one step further - in the direction of a consistent and well thought-out implementation.
