From foundation to specialization

From management essentials to leadership fine-tuning: with our core modules at the TU WIen ACE, participants learn relevant basic economic knowledge (e.g. finance & accounting, marketing & project management) and can expand or develop their own leadership style as part of our leadership retreat. In addition to these basic modules the individual specialization of the program completes the unique curriculum.

The specialisation for the Executive MBA program Strategic People Management and New Work has to be completed at the LIMAK Austian Business School in Linz and includes 11 days of on-site courses on specific key topics, from the areas of strategic employee management, organizational culture and its understanding, employee experience Journeys and much more.

  •  to explain the basic aspects of internal and external corporate accounting, to apply them independently in the practical working environment and to use them for business decisions.
  • to solve practical financing and valuation problems by applying basic financial principles.
  • discuss macroeconomic relationships and current economic policy measures, apply central economic theories and concepts, and analyze the consequences of individual decisions in a market economy context

Your Key Learnings in 'Managing Technologies'

  • the fundamental aspects of data science and technology management 
  • to select appropriate methods for data collection, apply suitable estimation procedures, and to analyze the results of a routine sample survey.

You will learn strategic approaches in the analysis and planning of framework conditions. They support you in implementing and driving the business strategy in your company and in aligning the culture in a future-oriented manner.

  • Understanding of the employee experience journey from initial contact to exit and knowledge of the relevant touchpoints (“moments that matter”)
  • Knowledge of the design options of employer branding, recruiting and onboarding
  • Support for the development of potential and the design of future-oriented career models
  • Awareness of the need for succession planning and diversity management
  • Knowledge of different performance management systems and raising awareness of modern agile target agreement systems (OKRs) for consistent communication and operationalization of the strategy

You know how to position yourself attractively on the market as an employer in order to be able to attract employees to the company. By designing individual career paths, you ensure that employees in your area of ​​responsibility optimally develop their potential. In addition, you will find the right performance management system for ongoing strategy communication and consistent target agreements.

Your Key Learnings in "Leadership, People Development and organizational Change"

  • Understanding of forms and possible uses of leadership and collaboration (e.g. virtual leadership and collaboration, agile management methods, ...)
  • Knowing how high potentials can best be promoted and challenged in the company
  • Knowledge of organizational development methods and instruments for designing cultural development processes
  • Awareness of the dynamics of change and knowledge of how changes must be initiated and accompanied
  • Knowledge of the importance of leadership in the change process
  • Know-how on the basics of coaching as well as forms and methods of internal and external consulting

In this module you will learn how potential-oriented development, leadership and collaboration can be designed. You get to know different forms of organizational design and can thus initiate and successfully implement change processes.

 

At the end of the programme, participants will have

in-depth knowledge about:

  • what elements strategic talent and succession management must include
  • how these elements should be designed
  • which tools and methods are useful
  • which trends and developments need to be monitored

and furthermore:

  • the ability to apply them through concrete work on talent and succession management in the respective company
  • concrete insights into where talent and succession management in your company currently stands - status check through the international Talent Management Index
  • a detailed, coordinated master plan for each participant on how to take talent and succession management in the respective company to the next level of maturity
  • and a certificate that proves this depth of knowledge and the ability to apply it.

In your Master's thesis, you work on a problem in a subject area of ​​your choice, using scientific methods. Usually it is a question with a practical relevance to one's own working environment.
